About Me
E oma (te reo Māori, v.) — run!
Oma (interpretive; from Sanskrit Om — ओम्) — associated with protection; unity & guiding presence
Oma (n.; colloquial, from German & Dutch) — grandmother (G’maw [noun] — /ˈɡræˌmɔː/)
Ko wai ahau—who am I?
For as long as I can remember, I dreamt of having a dog of my own…as a young adult I was determined and then blessed over the years to have had three of the best-est dogs.
Fast-forward, and after many classic first-time, dog-owner blunders, I’m a little wiser, & a G’maw to a sweet, handsome, brawny, stubborn, hyperactive, English Bulldog—the inspiration behind my logo & collectively, they are all my motivation behind Oma.
Ive had careers in hospitality and naturopathy & after years of dog-walking Oma feels like a natural progression of my experiences, resilience and ongoing reasoning I’ve developed—enmeshed with my lifelong love of dogs.
I am continually learning skills, then refining them to strengthen my relationship with your dog. I provide a structured experience that supports calmness, confidence, and self-control while still honouring your dog’s natural curiosity and freedom to explore.
While different animals may have varying needs, every dog—no matter their breed, size, age or quirks—deserves the best kind of canine adventure while ensuring their mind , body & furry-little-soul are being nurtured!
Thank you for considering me as your trusted dog-walker.
